Local Rule – Relief from Cracks in the Ground

Please be aware of local rules update. Due to current course conditions, cracks in the ground are now to be treated as ground under repair. What does this mean during your round?

  • If your ball comes to rest in a crack, you may take free relief under Rule 16.1b
  • Relief applies to the lie of the ball and area of intended swing only
  • No relief is permitted if the crack only affects your stance
  • To take relief, find the nearest point of complete relief and drop within one club-length, no closer to the hole

This Local Rule follows Model Local Rule F-8

Memorial Cup results:

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in today’s Memorial Cup! We were thrilled to welcome 11 teams (33 members in total) and are proud to share that we raised £170 for Prospect Hospice - a fantastic contribution to a great cause. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, with gusty winds and some heavy showers, the spirit of the day remained high and we saw some impressive scoring out on the course. Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Memorial Shield, with an outstanding score of 27 - Susan Jewell, Val Stockley, Caroline Symmons. 2nd Place – Gordan Hampson, David Jackson, Grant Kirkup – 29. 3rd Place – Malcolm Baker, Peter Hancock, Stuart Hinder – 30. Well played, everyone, and thank you once again for your support!

Thank you also to Dave Kee for donating a homegrown Fruit & Vegetable box for a Closest to Pin prize, won by Susan Jewell.
