Our beautiful parkland provides the perfect setting to continue your celebrations as a newly married couple. Whether you are planning an intimate reception or a large celebration, Basset Down can bring your vision to life.

Your wedding reception is as important to us as it is to you, which is why our dedicated Events Manager will work closely with you from your initial enquiry, through to the big day. Our ‘blank canvas’ rooms are tastefully decorated allowing you to style them to theme of your choice, working alongside our preferred suppliers who can help you create something truly magical.

Our Reception Rooms

Withymead

With its own private balcony, Withymead is a beautiful light and airy room with floor to ceiling windows offering a picturesque view across the golf course and surrounding countryside. It has its own entrance, private bar and modern contemporary finish, making it the perfect place to host your wedding reception. Seated, Withymead can host 140 for your Wedding Breakfast and 200 in the evening. 

Burnbake

For more intimate receptions, our Burnbake room located on the ground floor also benefits from its own entrance, private bar and modern contemporary finish. With bi-fold doors on to an adjoining patio area, you can enjoy the beauty of both the indoor and outdoor space that Burnbake offers. Seated, Burnbake can host 40 for your Wedding Breakfast and evening. 


Our Packages

Our packages have been created to give you an all-inclusive price for your Wedding Breakfast, with no hidden charges, just optional extras & upgrades. All that we offer is fully flexible so we can create a bespoke package that is just right for you.

Our packages start from £70.00 per person and include the following:

  • Dedicated Events Manager throughout the planning process and on the day coordination
  • 3 Course Wedding Breakfast followed by tea & coffee
  • White table linen as required for your wedding, including white linen napkins
  • All crockery, cutlery & glassware as required for your event
  • Prosecco on arrival, half a bottle of house wine with the Wedding Breakfast and Prosecco to toast
  • A team of experienced chefs & front of house staff to serve you and your guests

Room hire is not included in the package price. Please contact us for room hire fees and to discuss availability.

We know that your Wedding Breakfast needs to be just right, which is why we use only the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible. A sample wedding menu can be viewed below, but we're fully flexible in our approach and welcome bespoke requests.

  • Freshly Made Soup Served with a Warm Bread Roll & Butter
  • Chicken Liver Parfait with Chutney & Crostini
  • Smoked Trout with Beetroot, Horseradish Crème Fraiche & Watercress
  • Honey Baked Feta, Rocket Resto & Candied Walnuts

MAIN COURSE

  • Slow Cooked Shin of Beef in a Roasted Shallot, Red Wine & Wild Mushroom Sauce with Mustard Mashed Potatoes & Seasonal Vegetables
  • Stuffed & Rolled Belly Pork, Sage & Onion Saute Potatoes, Roasted Root Vegetables & a Cider Cream Sauce
  • Oven Roasted Fillet of Salmon on a Warm Salad of Israeli Cous Cous, Dill & Tarragon Dressing
  • Pan Roasted Supreme of Chicken, Fricassee of Leeks, Peas & Smoked Bacon, Garlic & Herb Roasted New Potatoes
  • Spiced Grilled Aubergine with a Cashew Nut Puree, Crispy Kale & Wilted Spinach
  • Roasted Butternut Squash & Courgette, Wilted Spinach, Pomegranate & Halloumi

DESSERT

  • Strawberry Shortcake, Macerated Strawberries & Chantilly Cream
  • Triple Chocolate & Salted Caramel Brownie, Chocolate Sauce & Roasted Hazelnut Cream
  • Coconut Panna Cotta with a Mango, Passionfruit & Pineapple Salsa
  • Glazed Lemon Tart, Raspberry Coulis & Clotted Cream
