Basset Down Complex is close to Junction 16 M4, Swindon. Family run with a fun, hardworking team delivering excellent food and customer service in an amazing setting Located just minutes off J16 M4 (between Bath and Reading). Sitting between Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon, and Marlborough. During 2021 we expanded our facilities adding two beautiful function rooms, a large contemporary, ‘country feel’ restaurant, bar, and multiple lounge areas offering family meals, drinks with friends, relaxed brunches, lunches, and suppers. We also have a large south facing balcony and patio areas.

Kitchen Porter/ Assistant

Our busy kitchen team need some more help!

We ideally need candidates with previous experience in a large, busy professional kitchen. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will be encouraged to learn from the chefs and help where necessary, and if you are passionate about food, you may wish to progress within the team to become a chef yourself!

Main responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all cutlery, crockery and glassware is professionally cleaned before and after use
  
• Ensure all service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe
  
• Cleaning of all cooking utensils as required by the culinary team during the preparation (mis-en-place) and service times
  
• Cleaning of kitchen work areas during and after use and removal of kitchen waste to the appropriate area
  
• Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area, ready for the next service
  
• Exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  
• Operating cleaning machinery as shown and trained in accordance with company policy
  
• Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  

Our restaurant is busy and has received great reviews. We pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of dishes made with high quality produce, exclusively made in house. We are currently open for Breakfast and Lunch (including Sunday Lunch) seven days a week and for Dinner three nights a week.

Evening & Weekend Clubhouse Assistant

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our reception and golf team. So, if you’re looking for weekend work in a beautiful, sociable and sporting environment, then read on!

Basset Down Complex is located just minutes off J16 M4 (between Bath and Reading), sitting between Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon, and Marlborough on the edge of the North Chalk Downs. Our established, family run site has been open to the public for over 18 years. During 2021, we also expanded our facilities significantly adding two beautiful function rooms, a large contemporary, ‘country feel’ restaurant, bar, and multiple lounge areas.

We have a our well-maintained and popular 9 hole golf course within 100 acres of mature parkland, two footgolf courses and 20-bay driving range with Toptracer technology. All our golfing facilities are open to the public, whilst also having a golfing membership of 350 players.

The purpose of this role is to help our team in the smooth running of the clubhouse in a ‘hands on manner’. Our clubhouse assistants are responsible for the following:

• Working on the main reception desk, greeting customers, answering phone calls
• Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the reception area and golfing facilities
• Taking bookings and payment for the driving range, golf course and footgolf courses

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week, including one day/weekend and two weekday evenings 

This role is available from 20th September onwards. Please be aware you must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position.

Requirements:

We’re looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, passionate about delivering great customer service, strong team players and able to use their initiative when necessary. To apply for this role, you should:

• Be available to work one day every weekend
• Ideally have previous experience in the hotel/sports/recreation industries (training will be given)
• Must have access to transport as no public transport available nearby
• Work well under pressure, especially during busy periods
• Have excellent spoken and written communication skills (in English)
• Knowledge of golf is desirable, but not essential.
