Buthlay Cup Update
Sunday 3rd September 2023
Buthlay Cup Quarter-Final Result.
On Saturday 2nd September a team of 4 Basset Down pairs played at home to Broome Manor and won 4 matches to nil and 12 holes up overall. Soon after the quarter-final cut-off date of September 10th the county will do a blind draw of the 4 semi-finalists and allocate neutral venues for each match and the date on which they are to be played. Details will be published as soon as we are made aware.

Senior Match Report
Friday 18th August 2023
Basset Down Seniors played their final match of the season at home against Westonbirt Golf Club on Thursday 17th August. The home venue was very much to Basset Down’s advantage. The final result of the match was a win for Basset Down by 3 1/2 matches to 1 1/2. This meant that Basset Down managed to maintain their unbeaten home record for this season. Buthlay Cup Result - 6th August
Friday 11th August 2023
On Sunday August 6th 4 pairs from Basset Down represented the club in our final Buthlay Cup league match of the season at Erlestoke. We required 2.5 points to seal the league win and a home quarter final versus Broome Manor. Glad to report that the team achieved 3.5 points with 3 matches going to the last hole.

Buthlay Cup Result - 16th July
Tuesday 18th July 2023
On Sunday July 16th a team of 4 pairs from Basset Down played an away match versus Chippenham in our third Buthlay Cup match of the season.
Our first two pairs lost their matches with our third winning so 2 matches to 1 in favour of Chippenham and 5 holes down overall.
It all came down to the final pair given holes up or down being critical in the overall league standings and our final pairing of Bryan Stockwell and Dan Conneely managed a superb 8 hole win securing us the overall win and bonus point.
Top of the league but Erlestoke away to come on 6th August.

Buthlay Cup Result - Saturday 3rd June
Monday 5th June 2023
Buthlay Cup match result: On Saturday 3rd June a team of 4 pairs played the first match of the season at home against Hamptworth.
Despite some spirited fightbacks by the Hamptworth pairings all 4 of our pairs won with an aggregate match win of 6 points to nil and 14 holes up. The next match is also at home versus Marlborough on Saturday 1st July.
