Guys and Dolls Competition – Semi-Finals

All Guys and Dolls pool matches have now been completed – a big thank you to everyone who took part! We hope you all enjoyed the matches and the friendly competition.

Semi-Final Line-Up:

• Winners of Pool 1: Hannah Hyde and Pete Sanders (8 points, +6)

           vs
           Runners-up of Pool 2: Jean Ricks and John Wells (7 points, +4)

• Winners of Pool 2: Pat Feeney and Graham Bates (11 points, +14)

           vs
          Runners-up of Pool 1: Angie Perry and Dave Ingram (8 points, +5)

Angie and Dave were tied on points and score with Mark Cable and Noeleen Stockwell. The tie was decided based on total holes won across all matches – Angie and Dave won 11 holes, while Mark and Noeleen won 10.

A reminder to all semi-finalists: please ensure that the semi-finals are played by the end of August.  The final is to be played by end of September.

Coming Up: Cirencester Rotary Charity Golf Day – Wednesday 13th August

Looking ahead, the Rotary Club of Cirencester invites golfers of all levels to take part in the Charity Golf Day at Cirencester Golf Club on Wednesday 13th August 2025.

Held in support of the Cheltenham and Gloucester Big Space Cancer Appeal, this fantastic day of golf promises plenty of fun, friendly competition, and fundraising.

Event Format:

• Teams of 4 – 4-ball Texas Scramble (handicap calculation: 25%, 20%, 15%, 10% from low to high)
• Mixed event – male, female, and mixed teams all welcome

What’s Included:

• Free-to-enter competitions throughout the day
• “Beat the Pro” challenge
• Hole-in-One competition on all Par 3s
• Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placed teams
• Awards for nearest the pin and longest drives
• £40 entry per person, which includes a free BBQ at the Halfway House

Let’s Beat Last Year’s Record! Three teams from Basset Down have already signed up – let’s see if we can top the nine teams entered in 2023! Entry forms are available on the main noticeboard by reception.
